Testimonials

Your dancers were quite amazing and a great way to begin the evening performances! I'm very grateful for your group's generosity, especially given the timing and the short notice. – Elissa Santo ,UC Village Family Student Housing Winter Festival 2011
If you’ve ever thought about taking dance lessons, I highly recommend starting with the UCBD team. You are getting lessons from actual team members who will work with you on your goals, whether it’s learning some basic steps for a social event or trying the same techniques that they themselves are working on. The team members are really enthusiastic, friendly and supportive – they are not trying to sell you anything like a commercial studio (remember they are students). [I had the fortune of at times working with two team members who were dance partners, so they doubled up to show me both the male and female side.] It’s a fun and quicker path to building a foundation from which you can take towards your dancing goals. Their prices are great and it’s nice to support the team. I’m an alum who just finished a series of lessons and plan on taking more." – Frank Huang ,September 2011
Our instructors were knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. They catered to the skill level of the group and gave us the opportunity to practice throughout the lesson. It was a wonderful addition to our holiday party." – Gina Gloria ,Kaiser Permanante Educational Theater Program
The UCB Ballroom Dance club was easy to work with. The instructors always arrived on time and were present, even though they were in the middle of a busy finals period. The employees that took the lessons were all impressed with the professionalism of the group and what they learned. The club helped us pull together a fun company event. We were a tough group to work with since we didn't know what we were doing and needed to learn quick. They were calm and accommodating to help us in any way they could. [The President] Lisha even went out of her way to call me and tell me that there were some cha-cha outfits in Berkeley at a store near campus. Very nice of her."   – Clif Bar Company Dinner
I felt you guys did a great job at dance marathon. You guys did a good job getting a lot of people involved with the lessons and were very interactive with the crowd, which was great. Thank you so much though for performing - we hope you guys come back in the years to come!" – Rahil Patel, Organizing Committee Member, Berkeley Dance Marathon for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation
The dance instructors from the UC Ballroom Dance student organization were great, they were very patient with our group, we all learned a lot, and everyone had a nice time! Thank you!" – Office of Student Leadership, UC Berkeley
Every brother and date who attended our event loved the ballroom dancing. It was definitely not something you would expect a fraternity to partake in; however, everyone loved it and was eager to learn. Rasna and James were excellent instructors; you could tell that they truly loved to dance ballroom, and their enthusiasm shone through their lesson. Personally, I would highly recommend other fraternities to give ballroom a chance: a little grace and culture is never a bad thing." – Phi Delta Theta, Valentine's Day Mixer
The ballroom dancing lessons we received during our six week stay at Berkeley helped me widen my outlook on different genres of music such as the quickstep and tango." – Iesenia Gonzalez, CHA House
The students began to develop what is probably a long-term interest in a form of social dance that will become increasingly useful to them as the years go by. The dance leaders were highly trained, excellent role-models for high school students, and really know how to dance!!" – Nancy Mellor, CHA House Director
"It was definitely a very fun time to build a little confidence on the dance floor. Your two instructors were very good at taking charge of a group that I find difficult to keep on task at times. They also tailored the instruction to the experience-level of the group. Overall, everyone had a great time and retained the basic step pretty well on the night of our Military Ball." – Jared Wigton, Battalion Commander
